Nest to work with Aviva Ventures to identify opportunities for start-up collaboration

HONG KONG

Nest is excited to announce a partnership with Aviva Ventures, Aviva’s corporate venture capital fund, to identify emerging technologies with the potential to transform the insurance industry and best serve customers well into the future.

As the leading corporate innovation provider across Asia, Middle East and Africa, Nest’s deep insight into innovation ecosystems and startup expertise compliments Aviva’s mandate to both invest in and deploy competitive as well as disruptive solutions.

Nest will work together with Aviva’s Ventures and Global Digital Innovation units to jointly identify startups with technologies that have applications across multiple industries, or the ‘intersection of industries’. Through the partnership, Nest will support Aviva's digital innovation strategy and its mission to be at the forefront of the digital revolution in insurance.

Fernand Lendoye, MD Aviva Ventures Asia, said “We see tremendous investment opportunities in Asia, ranging from new solutions that serve the underinsured, to offerings that redefine the scope of traditional insurance products. Our partnership with Nest will enable us to further foster digital transformation in the industry.”

Serge Taborin, Aviva’s Global Digital Innovation Director, added “Startup collaboration is one of the key pillars of Aviva’s digital strategy. We are excited to be working with Nest on identifying innovative technologies and partnering with Asian startups to trial and evolve new customer solutions.”

Lawrence Morgan, CEO of Nest, said, "The most exciting startups we see are located at the 'intersection of industries', breaking traditional industry silos and redefining how we approach the adoption of innovative technologies. In partnership with Aviva's Innovation and Ventures units, we will support the development of technologies that not only can be applied to insurance but that have revolutionary potential in their own right - whether that be through customer experience, machine learning, augmented reality or blockchain."
