Celebrating Pilots & PoCs at Bangkok Bank InnoHub Season 2 Demo Day

Bangkok Bank InnoHub Season 2 is our second programme with the Bank based on five themes – Creating Unique Customer Experience, Digitisation and Automation, Future SME Solution, Innovative Payment, and Discovering Cutting Edge Technologies.

All 8 startups had developed ‘real use-cases’ with Bangkok Bank, meaning that everyone has demonstrated how their technology can be used to benefit the Bank’s customers and/or improve the Bank’s systems. Demo Day is the celebration of 12-weeks of hard work to an audience of investors, mentors, Bangkok Bank and Nest stakeholders, media, and more.

There’s always such high energy in the room at Demo Day (or maybe that’s just the coffee’s doing!). It starts very early in the day with rehearsals, set-up, and finishing touches on decks and videos. Come 6pm, 250 guests including industry experts, the innovation community, and investors are ushered in and the celebration begins!

At the fabulous Park Hyatt Hotel in Bangkok, the 8 startups, selected from 128 applicants across 28 countries had just 8 minutes to show their best solutions to address the Bank’s needs. After the pitch, they moved on to meet and mingle in the networking lounge amongst a curated group of investors from Nest and Bangkok Bank’s network. The Nest team was there to facilitate conversations as most of the startups were looking to raise funds in order to scale. We can’t wait to hear some good news from our cohort soon!

Being the first global FinTech accelerator in Thailand, it’s amazing to see how the programme has progressed so much since last season. Over two years, our partnership with Bangkok Bank has achieved tremendous success; for the startups, this means early Proof-of-Concept (PoC) discussions while the programme is still running, and for the Bank it means we see internal culture change towards an innovation mindset and a greater agility in adopting new technologies. We’re beyond excited to share that two startups are already implementing pilot projects and three startups have PoCs with the business units! This truly proves that corporate startup collaboration will drive the future of FinTech in Thailand.

While the programme has ended, commercial partnership discussions are still ongoing. The Nest team are proud of all the accomplishments the startups have achieved so far. Stay tuned to hear more about the collaboration opportunities on our blog and check out the startups below.
